Zoos Victoria launches Maptivate across all their sites
We’re thrilled to announce that following the success at Melbourne Zoo, Maptivate is now live at ALL Zoos Victoria locations including Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, and Kyabram Fauna Park.
Zoos Victoria wanted to find a way to help reduce waste by limiting the number of disposable paper maps, while having one easy-to-use online, interactive map with up-to-date animal details, conservation information and content, keeper talk times, sensory information and a range of languages available and instant translation at the click of a button.
We're proud to have created a solution that not only simplifies way-finding (using Geographic Information Systems, or GIS, technology), but enriches the overall zoo experience while supporting Zoos Victoria's accessibility and sustainability goals. Maptivate has brought to life the Zoos information and content, including Keeper Talks and conservation initiatives, all within one interactive and easy to use platform.
Some key highlights include:
Multi-lingual Support: Instant language translation for all visitors
Accessibility Features: Sensory awareness filters for a more inclusive experience
Sustainability: Reduction of paper and printing resources saves costs and aligns with environmental objectives
Enhanced User Features: The new "Gallery" feature lets visitors choose which animals to explore next based on images at each map point - especially fun for the young ones who want to explore where to go next!
Real-time Updates: Zoos can easily edit and refresh content like videos, photos and Zoo Keeper speaker times or other events
Unified Client CMS: A single content management system for seamless navigation and data editing across all sites
Analytics: Live data helps track visitor engagement and optimise experiences.
